Protagonist - Spring 2017

I've always thought that the satin slip dress is a rarity to see worn out in the wild. I mean obviously, it's going to attract a lot of attention like its party-hard cousin, the sequinned disco dress. And like all things in fashion, it takes a certain kind of girl with a certain kind of spirit to work it.

In this case though, the label Protagonist has come up with a slip that feels a little more refined than sultry, though the restrained presentation of it certainly seals that effect. There's a lot of beautiful outfits in this collection and I think many women could easily devote their wardrobe and heart to Protagonist.

TSE - Spring 2017

I know. It's the requisite Fashion Week post featuring Alana Zimmer. But I really like what TSE has done this season in spite of every girl and her so-called besty craving floral print rompers and sandals designed by the same people who make cat toys for a living.

Femininity need not be overly minimalistic or excessively adorned with flowers. Just a bit of contouring, mascara, natural light, and a good night's rest! The stylists and designers put a lot of love and grace in this look and it really stands out from all the noise coming from the first day of NYFW.

Kippy Skateboards

My MTV days are long gone, but I've been on the lookout for a good cruising skateboard and picked up my first one this month! Things have been going smooth so far. And by smooth I mean I haven't had to book an appointment at the hospital for a skin graft.

I thought RD made a great complete board and when I saw it in seafoam blue, I knew it was right for me. Until, that is, I came across Kippy Skateboards a few weeks later! They're a small business located on the Gold Coast of Australia and they bring a lot of love and a lot of magic to their boards. Looks like I have a new set of boards to hoard!

These photos are so well done. It doesn't matter if it's art, fashion, or sport. When you're at the top of the game, you play by different rules.

Illesteva - Spring 2016

Hang up your wool coats and beanies because it's that time of year where you get to spend a stupid amount money on sunglasses! Enter Illesteva, my favourite label that's a little bit daring and crazy, all made in the Italian spirit.

So they're bringing in a new set of fantastic handmade frames for Spring. Two stand out. There's the Leonard Mask, which are equally ridiculous and awesome, and the Porto Cervo, because all the cool kids wear round lenses.
